Food Matters

Dear Napa Community:

Redwood Middle School 6th graders, under the guidance of their teacher Katherine Van Treese, created Public Service Announcement storyboards that depict issues connected to the food system. These storyboards were the culmination of a project titled: "Food Matters", with the driving question of the project being: How does the way food is raised, processed, transported, and eaten impact both people and the environment? Students spent weeks gathering evidence through researching articles, watching videos, interviewing a guest speaker from Napa Community Garden, and working with Phil Lofaro on storyboards. The compilation of this research is illustrated on their storyboards, displayed on this web page, with the intent to inform the public about issues connected to the food system!
