Summer of 2014 - 1462 lbs. of Fresh Vegetables Donated
Napa gardeners from the Napa Community Garden donated a total of 1462 lbs. of fresh produce to the Napa Food Bank during the summer of 2014.
A variety of greens, herbs, radish, cucumber, green bean, squash and tomato were some of the produced donated to our local food bank.
CanDo CanGrow spearheaded a section of community garden plots that were dedicated soley to grow and provide produce for donation to the Food Bank. As well the general population of community gardeners who donated excess veggies and/or grew, harvested and provided veg for donation.
A great group of folks helped prepare the plots, tend, harvest and transport the produce for donation.....special thanks to students from Napa County Office of Education schools and UC Master Gardeners for their advice and tireless efforts.
